BUSINESS ANALYST

Non- profit company focused on helping to develop small businesses and cooperatives. Seeking a motivated individual who is ready to apply knowledge of business practices and processes in a fast-paced, real-world business environment. The business analyst should be ready to apply principles of social justice, equality, and democracy. This will be a valuable experience for any individual pursuing a career in business administration, entrepreneurship, and business management.

SUCCESSFUL BUSINESS ANALYST WILL HAVE

  • A strong interest/background in small business development, entrepreneurship, cooperative business development.
  • Experience including meeting facilitation and coordination. Groups will range from 10 to 20 people.
  • Ability to learn quickly and be interested in developing a variety of new skills; be able to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines; can work both autonomously and in a team.
  • Willingness to engage with the small business and cooperative members, and other individuals and organizations supporting the development of small and cooperative businesses.
  • Experience interacting with the press as well as supporting business members with public speaking engagements and networking.
  • Superior organizational, interpersonal and communication skills; demonstrated experience of written and oral presentation skills.
  • Entrepreneurial/Business skills are preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

  • Assist coordination small business and cooperative academy based on the training curriculum.
  • Coordinate weekly meetings in the evenings and weekends.
  • Supporting the various teams with leadership development.
  • Coordinate with attorney legal business incorporation and governance.
  • Provide ongoing technical and leadership trainings.
  • Provide assistance with developing plan with for marketing strategy.
  • Maintaining contact database/information.
  • Provide developing sales promotions, e-newsletters, and updates to their website.
  • Assist with coordinate business symposiums and public events.

Languages: Able to write, read and speak fluently in English and Spanish is helpful

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Four – year college degree.
  • Community Development, Business, or related field.
  • Business development experience is preferred.
  • Experience with community organizing.
  • Experience with working in Latin@ immigrant communities. Work in other immigrant communities is a plus.
  • Must be a strong verbal and written communicator in English.
  • Experience with media, and communications messaging a plus.
  • Microsoft suite knowledge (word, power point, excel)
